How we list sleep environment specs

This primer explains how ClearPoint Guide translates manufacturer labels into the spec fields on our product pages. We prioritize published, measurable attributes over marketing language.

Loft and fill

Loft height is recorded at the center or highest contour point unless the manufacturer specifies otherwise. Shredded fill weight is listed in pounds for the stated size. Foam density uses manufacturer D ratings when provided.

Surface and fabric

Thread count (TC) and GSM appear as labeled. Fabric blends list percentage breakdowns from care tags or spec sheets. "Bamboo" textiles are described as viscose or rayon derived unless the seller documents otherwise.

Weighted blankets

We list total weight for the stated size, fill type (glass or plastic beads), and construction style (knit channel vs quilted pocket). Weight selection guidance is general; we do not prescribe weights for specific individuals.

Light and sound

Curtain opacity uses manufacturer percentage claims with the note that installation gaps affect real-world performance. Sound machine volume ranges are approximate at reference distance when published.

Review dates

Each listing shows a last-reviewed date (August 19, 2026 on current entries). Spec changes without model number updates are flagged on the Rotation page when we become aware of them.
